Technology

Implementation of the latest care and communication technologies plays an enormous role in the high level of care that we’re proud to be able to offer at Charlton Kings Care Home, and is something that we’re continuously researching to ensure we’re at the forefront of latest developments.

Good communication between our staff and our residents is vital, so we recently moved to recording all care on handheld devices using specialist software, enabling us to easily share information with relatives in real time. We have also replaced noisy nurse alarm systems in favour of more discreet call alerts should a resident need assistance, ensuring swift action without disturbing others.

Our management systems have been streamlined with software in order to allow our care team more time on-hand with our residents, whilst simultaneously allowing uninterrupted communication between our care and management teams; important for ensuring high-quality care at all times.

Sleep

Sleep is vital to the overall health and wellbeing of residents, and something we see as paramount when it comes to innovation investment within the home. The introduction of new handheld monitoring devices and discreet call systems means that our residents can sleep uninterrupted without any noisy alarms disturbing them, whilst we also continually monitor mealtimes and how moving them slightly can help to ensure a better night’s sleep for those in our care.

Very soon, we’ll be implementing the use of AI with acoustic monitoring, alerting our staff to the slightest deviations from the norm whilst our residents are sleeping to enable them to respond immediately where a need is identified.

Facilities

We recognise that, in order to provide the best quality of care to our residents, our facilities need to meet our own exacting standards. Improvements to the living environment throughout the home are consistently undertaken in order to ensure that our beautiful period property is well-equipped to meet the differing needs of those with us, with new technologies continually researched by our team for implementation wherever viable.

Over the past few years, we have upgraded the lighting system throughout the home, installed a state-of-the-art kitchen and, importantly, installed a super-fast internet connection throughout to enable our residents to enjoy the benefits that the online world brings.

Nutrition and Wellbeing

Nutrition is one of the cornerstones of our care here at Charlton Kings Care Home and we’re very proud of the excellent quality of food on offer. With every meal freshly prepared by our in-house chef in our state-of-the-art kitchen, great care is taken to create an exciting daily menu with balanced nutrition at the forefront of every dish, ensuring a well-rounded diet full of nutritious, delicious produce to keep our residents happy and healthy.

We also keep on top of the latest research when it comes to diet, certain ingredients and their effect on the body, and cater for all dietary requirements.
