March 1st Update: Spring Activities, Allotment Plans and Garden Centre Trip

As we welcome 1st March, there is a real sense of change in the air. The days are becoming longer, the mornings brighter and the first signs of spring are beginning to show. March is a month that symbolises renewal and growth, making it the perfect time to look ahead with positivity and purpose.

Embracing the Season

Spring encourages us to refresh our routines and embrace new opportunities. As nature begins to bloom again, it reminds us that growth often starts with small, steady steps. This season inspires creativity, connection and wellbeing, all of which we aim to nurture in the months ahead.

Our Plans for an Allotment Space

We are excited to share that we have plans to create an allotment space. This dedicated outdoor area will allow us to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers together, offering a rewarding and meaningful activity for everyone involved.

The allotment will provide many benefits:

  • Gentle physical activity in the fresh air
  • Opportunities to learn new gardening skills
  • Support for mental wellbeing through time outdoors
  • Encouragement of healthy eating with home grown produce
  • A shared space that brings people together

Gardening offers a strong sense of achievement, from planting seeds to harvesting produce. We look forward to watching our allotment grow and flourish as a community project we can all take pride in.

Garden Centre Trip and Flower Arranging Activities

To prepare for our allotment, we are planning a trip to a local garden centre during March. This visit will give us the opportunity to explore plants, seeds and gardening tools, as well as gather inspiration for our seasonal flower displays.

The trip will allow everyone to:

  • Choose seeds and plants for the allotment
  • Learn about seasonal planting
  • Select flowers and greenery for arranging
  • Enjoy a relaxed and social outing

Flower arranging is a creative and calming activity that encourages self expression and social interaction. By combining our allotment plans with flower arranging sessions, we hope to make the most of the beauty and variety that spring brings.

Looking Ahead

March marks a fresh chapter filled with new projects and shared experiences. With our allotment plans underway and an inspiring visit to the garden centre ahead, we are looking forward to a productive and uplifting month.
