We recently welcomed local college students into our care home for a relaxed and enjoyable intergenerational visit, spending time together playing games, chatting and sharing plenty of smiles. đź’›
These visits are a wonderful way to support social interaction, emotional wellbeing and meaningful connection for our residents. Simple activities like board games, conversation and one to one time help build confidence, encourage engagement and create a real sense of togetherness.
Intergenerational activities like this bring fresh energy into the home while giving students the opportunity to connect with older people in a warm, supportive environment. Moments like these show the positive impact of community involvement in care homes and how shared time can make a genuine difference to everyone involved.
